Safety, Health and Environmental Technologists


Cocciardi and Associates, Inc. is a full-service Safety, Health, Environmental Protection and Emergency Preparedness consulting and engineering firm.  The firm is currently soliciting resumes for two Safety, Health and Environmental Protection (SHEP) Technologists in our Scranton (Jessup), PA office.  Both positions will report to the Scranton office for work assignments, however the majority of work for one of the Technologists is anticipated to be performed in the Allentown, PA area.  These are Fair Labor Standards Act positions with a salary range of $20.19/hr. – $23.37/hr.  Hours worked over 40 hours are compensated at time and a half rate.  The company offers an exceptional benefits package, including a comprehensive healthcare package, multi-faceted retirement plan, and professional development opportunities.  Professional progression and advancement are anticipated for these individuals.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs projects of a technical nature in occupational health and safety, performing site safety and environmental hazard inspections, assisting with the development of safety plans, and performing air monitoring/sampling
  • Develops written reports with findings and recommended actions
  • Provides presentations and training for clients in various EH&S areas (U.S. EPA and OSHA training)
  • Maintains training/certifications/licensure in EH&S areas
  • Ensures full compliance with applicable regulations and standards in all work performed
  • Marketing outreach and expansion of services to new and potential clients
  • Ability to accommodate overnight and weekend travel is required


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field -or- Associates Degree in a related field with two (2) years direct experience -or- minimum of four (4) years combination education and/or direct experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Fully qualified to use personal protective equipment, including respirators, and may enter or operate in hazardous environments or atmospheres
  • Demonstrates basic understanding in core service areas
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, team player, and effectively communicates in a professional manner with peers, leadership, and clients
  • Demonstrates behaviors that encourage a positive culture and foster a productive environment
