Safety, Health and Environmental Protection Professional - Mechanicsburg, PA / Posted August 2008
Applications are currently being accepted for the full-time salaried ($55,000.00-$70,000.00 DOQ) position of Safety, Health and Environmental Protection Professional for Cocciardi and Associates, Inc., Mechanicsburg, PA office. This individual will manage, to completion, projects related to safety and environmental protection plans, training of clients in the areas of toxic materials handling, inspection of public and industrial sites for safety and environmental health hazards and the provision of written reports of findings with conclusions and recommendations. This individual must maintain certification in specified areas of expertise and demonstrate routinely these competencies. This individual works with/through subordinate staff.
Response to events of consequence may be required, as well as operation within an incident management system.
The individual must be an excellent verbal communicator and possess above average written communications and documentation skills. The selected individual will have a minimum of seven years full-time experience in the safety and/or environmental protection fields, including a minimum of two years supervisory experience; a Bachelors Degree in a related field from an accredited university and have completed an advanced degree or professional certification (e.g. CSP; CIH; CFPS; CHMM) [Note: Candidates who are qualified for testing may be considered].

Applications are currently being accepted for the salaried ($37,500.00-$55,000.00 DOQ) position of Emergency Preparedness Specialist for Cocciardi and Associates, Inc., Harrisburg, PA office. This individual will perform emergency services projects such as the development of emergency response plans, training clients within the emergency service disciplines, exercising of existing client plans and provision of evaluations for clients in compliance with national formats, such as those of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program. This individual must be knowledgeable and certified in the National Incident Management System. Response to emergent events is required, to assist clients with management of these events. The Specialist must be fully qualified to use personal protective equipment, including respirators.
This individual will receive assignments and supervision on a routine (e.g. weekly) basis, and must have demonstrated written and oral communication skills. This individual will possess an appropriate college degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of three years emergency planning/training experience, resulting in specialized skills and the ability to qualify for professional certification testing. The position is located at the company offices in Scranton, Pennsylvania, however projects may be completed at client locations throughout the state and country. This individual will report within the company management structure.
This individual will manage and complete emergency services projects such as the development of continuity of operations and emergency response plans, training and education within the emergency service disciplines, exercising of existing client plans and provision of evaluations and reviews for clients in compliance with national formats, such as those of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program. This individual must be knowledgeable and certified in the National Incident Management System. Individuals with specialized emergency preparedness skills will be considered (e.g. law enforcement or medical emergency preparedness skills). The Professional must be fully qualified to use personal protective equipment, including respirators.
